R-VRAC - UNFINISHED ATTICS

Spotlight on Sainte-Savine! Minisini Plâtrerie company insulated the attic space of Édouard Herriot High School with our R-VRAC, a recycled textile insulation.
Objective: a more efficient building and classrooms where students can keep a cool head, even in summer.
The project's challenges: less heat loss, more coolness gained
Édouard Herriot High School wanted to improve the energy performance of its building, without forgetting summer comfort. Focus on the attic space: 175m² to insulate, with an ambitious target of R10.
In winter, the heat stays warm in the classrooms instead of escaping through the roof. In summer, the insulation blocks the heat that accumulates under the roof. Enough to approach June exams and the September back-to-school period feeling cool!
The result? A satisfied high school, a satisfied installer… and us too!
Thanks to Minisini Plâtrerie and Édouard Herriot High School for their trust. This proves, once again, that recycled textiles have a rightful place in energy renovation, even in schools.
Key Stages of the Intervention
Located on the third floor, the attic space represented the major challenge of the project. Fortunately, this was no obstacle for the Minisini Plâtrerie teams, who came equipped with an Isol International Compact 3 blowing machine.
The project was carried out in two stages:
- Air sealing: a vapor barrier to keep indoor humidity away from the insulation and preserve its performance over time.
- Blowing: the R-VRAC was blown to R10, in a homogeneous layer without thermal bridges.

To meet the requirements of this public building, the R-VRAC was chosen, our bulk insulation solution derived from the circular economy.
R-VRAC is a bio-based insulation material made from recycled textiles (around 20 recycled garments per bag).
It is an eco-friendly, high-performance alternative, perfectly suited to public-access buildings (ERP), combining thermal performance with a commitment to the planet.
