From uniform to neck gaiter: When workwear returns to service
Every item of protective clothing or uniform was designed for a specific mission: to support and protect those who build, secure, serve, or represent.
At Dagobaire, we receive several million of these professional garments every year. For us, it is a great honour to be entrusted with recycling these textiles that carry so much meaning. There are the trousers that protected the mason while building a home. The dress uniform of an officer committed to protecting France. Or the uniform of a brand hostess helping our national flagship shine.
Behind every collected item, there are dedicated professions, demanding conditions, and life journeys. We firmly believe their usefulness must not end there: at Dagobaire, nothing is lost, everything is passed on.
Protecting our soldiers from the cold, a tremendous source of pride
Our industrial expertise enables us to sort and transform part of these professional garments into new, high-quality fibres, ready for spinning.
Recently, we carried out a project that is particularly close to our hearts: recycling military uniforms made from a wool and polyester blend. These uniforms were transformed into new fibres, now used to make neck gaiters designed to protect French soldiers, in return, from the winter cold.
Material performance in the service of sustainability
Transforming this highly technical equipment into new resources is both an industrial responsibility and a source of pride. The durability requirements for these garments are extreme, and our recycled fibres prove their value in the field.
By shaping a circular economy, Dagobaire does more than recycle material: we extend these garments’ duty of protection, turning yesterday’s commitment into tomorrow’s comfort.
